Healing Carrot Turmeric Gummies

Delicious with so many health benefits to these gummies and I love how easy they are to eat and make. Turmeric has powerful medicinal properties, it enhances athletic performance and reliefs soreness after exercise with it’s anti-inflammatory effects. Also boosts immune function with it’s antioxidants. Gelatin also has many health benefits like it improves digestion, joint and bone pain, increases brain function and helps reduce the signs of aging. I love experimenting with gummies because you can use any fruit or vegetable. My rule is 1 tbsp of gelatin per 1/4 cup liquid or puree. I wish I knew this recipe when my kids where babies.

Healing Carrot Turmeric Gummies

1 large carrot or 2 medium or 3 small one’s peeled and chopped

1 apple cored

1 orange peeled

1 lemon squeezed

1/2 inch of fresh turmeric

1/2 inch of fresh ginger

1 or 2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup

8 tbsp Gelatin

In blender puree carrots, apple, orange, lemon juice, turmeric and ginger. Should measure to 2 cups. Heat in a pot for a minute and add honey and gelatin stirring inbetween Tbsp’s. Boil for 3 minutes and pour into silicone moulds. Place in freezer or fridge for 30 minutes and pop out of moulds and store in the fridge for a week.

Make these gummies your own with your favorite ingredients and it’s like having snackable smoothie to go. Silicone muffin moulds from Ikea are a very handy tool. I use them for making peanut butter cups and many other recipes.

Peach Gummies

Gummies are the perfect summer treat and since I’m doing peach everything gummies came to mind and I just happens to have fresh picked blueberries, blackberries and raspberries in the fridge. Since I’m not working I have time to go berry picking with my kids. Around Valentine’s Day we made lots of strawberry hearts and shared them at school. This year will be different due to Covid. Frozen fruit just thaw a few minutes and use. My son Judd wants to try lime bubbly with lime juice. Worth a try! Have fun finding your favorite flavor!!!

Peach Gummies

1 cup pureed peaches

3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

2 Tbsp maple syrup, honey or other sweetener

4 Tbsp Gelatin or Agar

Optional – pressed ginger juice and cardamom

In blender puree peaches, lemon juice and maple syrup. Should measure to over 1 cup. Heat in a pot for a minute and add gelatin. Boil for 3 minutes and pour into moulds. Push berries down for no air bubbles, if using. Place in freezer for 30 minutes and pop out of moulds and store in the fridge for a week.

I buy my gelatin at Season’s Pharmacy and now is a great time to go because of all the local produce!!
A blend of green tea with fruit is a beautiful pairing. Agar is a vegan substitute. Using garlic press, peel and cut ginger into small pieces and press out juice.

Health to all!!!
